Seven of the eight(1) original animals introduced for genetic restoration purposes continue to utilize the same areas that have become established as their consistent use areas over the past several months.

TX101 -- TX101 continues to use a relatively small portion of the Big Cypress Seminole Indian Reservation indicating she still has kittens present.

TX103 -- TX103 has remained in her home range which extends from Turner River on the west to the Loop Road on the east, Highway 41 on the north, and south to Gator Hook Swamp in Big Cypress National Preserve. She has shown no signs of denning since her release a year ago.

TX104 -- TX104 used the northern area of Fakahatchee Strand State Preserve. The last three flights of the month she was located with female panther #57.

TX105 -- This Texas cougar continues to utilize the pinelands and hardwood hammocks in the vicinity of Long Pine Key in Everglades National Park. There have been no confirmed denning activities to date.

TX106 -- TX106 spent the bulk of her time on the western side of Fakahatchee Strand State Preserve north of Jane's Scenic Drive. The tracks of her and her kitten were located on 16 May along the western boundary south of Jane's walking north along the canal road.

TX107 -- TX107 has been using the western side of her range which overlaps with that of panther #55. They were located together on four flights between May 20 and 27. She has shown no signs of denning since her release a year ago.

TX108 -- TX108 continues to utilize the pinelands and hardwood hammocks in the vicinity of Long Pine Key in Everglades National Park. There have been no confirmed denning activities to date. Both TX105 and TX108 are crossing the park roads on a regular basis.

(1)TX102 was struck by a vehicle and killed along County Road 833 in Hendry County between 20-21 September 1995.
