TX102 -- This female cougar was struck by a vehicle and killed along County Road 833 in Hendry County between 20-21 September 1995. TX104 -- TX104 was located most of the month in the Belle Meade area, west of the Picayune Strand State Forest in November. One healthy female kitten was examined and marked with a transponder on 1 December. The kitten weighed 3 lbs. 11 oz. and was estimated to be bout 21 days old. She did not have the kinked tail common for most other Florida panthers. TX103, TX105, TX107, and TX108 were radio-tracked on a limited basis due to the partial shutdown of the Federal Government. Sporadic monitoring inidcated these four cougars continue to use their established areas of activity that they have frequented over the past several months.
